Krabi, Thailand Southern Thailand
Hotels and Resorts

The first thing I want to say is that I'm not a travel agent and am not in the travel business at all. I'm just doing this as a public service of sorts. Here are a few pictures and a few links and telephone numbers of hotels at Ao Nang Beach, Krabi, Thailand. If any of these have changed or are otherwise incorrect, please let me know. This is not an exhaustive list by any means; there are plenty of smaller places to stay in around. Check out any guidebook for more addresses.

The Peace Laguna Resort, where we stayed. This is from their promotional postcard. The cabins on the left have air-con and satellite TV. The ones on the right have air-con but no TV. The wooden cabins behind the concrete ones you see have a fan only and of course rent for less. Address: Moo 2, Ao Phranang Krabi, 81000 Thailand. Tel. 66-75-637345. Fax 66-75-637347. Highly recommended.
This really is the front of Gift's - you've got to trust me on this. They list their address as simply Ao Nang Beach, Krabi 81000, Thailand. Tel. 66-1-229-2128 (this is a Bangkok number, so it must be a booking agent) and Tel. & Fax 66-75-637193. Gift's will put you right on the beach, but with this foliage, I don't think you'll get a view. It may also be a bit noisy considering all the traffic right outside (like me on the Yamaha 200 dirt bike I rented - not quiet).
The Ao Nang Villa is on the beach, but it's off the main drag, so it is quiet. They have some bungalows left, but they have also built a high-rise main building, built within the last few years, that will give you a sea view if your room faces that way. They also have a pool.

I don't think the Krabi Resort needs me to do much advertising for them. They're the oldest and biggest outfit on Ao Nang. They have the big main building with pool, but they also have these bungalows just off the beach. This would also be a great place to stay, as there are a great many restaurants located nearby, right on the beach.
This picture doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the ones on the web, and the owners may not like my posting it since this picture doesn't look so attractive. But like it or hate it, this is what the Ban Ao Nang looks like from the street. Since it is perched up the hill a bit, the rooms look out over the top of the Krabi Resort, and the view might be nice from the rooms facing that way.

I don't have a picture of the Phra Nang Inn, since I had camera trouble. The Phra Nang is about a 3-story poured concrete building. They've done a real nice job of covering it with bamboo-look siding and making it blend into the surroundings. It is located on a busy corner so it may be noisy, but you can't beat the convenience. Some second and third floor rooms will have a sea view. They have a web site, so you can look them up.
