In June, my old teaching associate from ten years ago paid us a visit, and we went up to the mountains. Hey Morten, don't make it 10 years next time! In July, my Saturday students took us to Lake Kawaguchi, at the base of Mt. Fuji, for an overnight adventure. Here, Taro signs off for the night in the hotel. Sweet, dreams, Taro. The hotel we stayed at had a putting green out front, so Taro was able to "perfect his style."

It was a hot summer in Japan this year, and we got down to the coast for a few days on the beach. As usual, my wife took the kids to Korea to visit her side of the family in August. They couldn't get flights this year, so they had to take the ferry from Japan. On the way back from Korea to Tokyo, my wife and the kids spent a few days in Osaka, so the kids were able to see their other Korean cousins, Hea Gyun and Hea Un.

As I said, this was a hot summer in Japan, and in early September we had to go up to the mountains one more time for a barbecue and splash in the Akigawa River. This picture was before both kids got naked. Another weekend Dad took them to Showa Memorial Park on his bicycle. They played themselves to death all day. Here, they bounced to their hearts' content on the great white rubber bouncy mountains. Last weekend was a traditional ride to see the turtles at Takahata Temple, where Dad forced them to sit down and pose for this shot.
